LAHORE: The Pakistan workers federation which is the most representative organisation earlier in their general body had announced their election committee as per their constitution which will be responsible to convene the process of the elections for the term 2023-2025. Mukhtar Awan a member of the PWF National executive board is the convener of the committee with Razam Khan, Malik Ikram, Khalid Pervaiz and Mosa Khan as the member of the committee.
The process of scrutiny and finalization of voter certificates to the issuance of their regional and national election schedule had already started on 5th March 2023 and will complete within stipulated time as per the constitution. It is expected that the PWF constitutional elections will be held under the supervision of the election committee in April for all 08 regions.
The New General Secretary confirmed during a press briefing that no regional elections are held to date and cannot be held until notified by the above-mentioned election committee members. Any elections held or communicated other than convened by the election committee notified by the 04th March 2023 General Council meeting of the Pakistan Workers Federation had no constitutional value.
The Pakistan Workers Federation reaffirmed its commitment to continue supporting the trade unions in Pakistan and to promote decent work for the workers.
