Multan: Governor Punjab Muhammad Balighur Rehman inaugurated Maher Fatima Dastarkhana for railway poters and two water filtration plants for passengers at Railway Station Multan on Friday.. Well-known industrialist Khawaja Jalaluddin Rumi and DS Railway Hamad Hasan Mirza were also accompained with him. The Governor of Punjab also distributed ration in the poters of Multan, Bahawalpur, Dera Nawab and Lodhran railway stations.
The ration included flour,lantols, sugar, rice and other food items.
The installation of water filtration plants, provision of rations and the establishment of the Maher Fatima Dastarkhavan were done by the Rumi Foundation.
Punjab Governor Muhammad Balighur Rehman while addressing said that
In Islam,feeding the needy and the hungry has been declared as the best act and a great virtue. He said that the recent flood brought devastation and has left 4 crore people homeless. Muhammad Balighur Rehman said that Pakistan Army and Disaster Management Authorities played a great role in this time of trouble and the role of philanthropists to help the flood victims was also commendable. He said that the train operation was affected due to flood due to which railway poters became unemployed. In this regard, establishment of Mehr Fatima Dastarkhavan and distribution of ration for poters is the best initiative.
He said that the family of Khwaja Jalaluddin Rumi has done unparalleled services to serve humanity. He said that it is the responsibility of the rich and philanthropic people to take care of the poor and needy people. Renowned industrialist Khwaja Jalaluddin Rumi while speaking on this occasion, said that the journey of service to humanity is going on under Rumi Foundation. He said food is being provided to more than 300 poters and passengers at Multan Railway Station. Apart from this, free lunch is also provided at District Headquarters Hospital and Fatima Jinnah Hospital. He said that two water filtration plants have been installed at Multan railway station, in which one plant is equipped with a chiller. Jalaluddin Rumi said that within a month, a water filtration plant with a chiller will also be activated at Khanewal railway station.Divisional Suprintendent Railway Hamad Hasan Mirza said on this occasion that
During the flood, Railway Division Multan provided ration to 1000 flood victims while medical aid was provided to three thousand flood victims.
Later, while addressing the convocation of a private college, Chancellor and Governor Punjab Muhammad Balighur Rehman said that training along with education plays an important role in developing the personality of the youth. He said that education is essential for career, while stature and status is achieved through training. Governor Punjab said that quality education for the youth is the need of the hour. Youth are the future of the nation, youth should develop positive qualities in themselves and they should have a vision and should be aware of their destination,he added. He said that the youth who get degrees. Earlier, the Governor of Punjab awarded MPhil, Master and Bachelor degrees to the students. On this occasion, the private college announced to give 9 Muhammad Balighur Rehman Scholarships every year to talented students.
